Chess Club meets on Friday’s during Core Plus. They also meet on Thursday’s after school for strategy planning and skills class. The club meets in the Cafeteria. Members can ride the activity bus home after meeting on Thursday’s. Members of chess club play each other throughout the year. The in-house tournament is at the end of November and concludes in December. This will determine Goddard’s chess champion and prepares everyone for the District Chess Tournament the first weekend in December. Frank Atwood is the chess club sponsor. Mr. Atwood has bi-weekly chess instructional meetings in Highlands Ranch each spring.
